Camps

This isn't a long list of RV'ing campsites, because it only includes those that stood out for us ... as being, 'Just The BEST'. At one time this page included several places we stayed that did not suit us. I realized that was not fair to the owners of those camp spots. So, here is our list of just our favourite places to stay.

Ft. De Soto CP, Tierra Verde, FL, USA: Very nice area, campsites are large and quite private, many have waterfront access, no on-site sewer. Good cycling, canoeing, kayaking, SUP, kite-surfing, fishing, walking, snorkelling. Need to reserve well in advance and extended stays of more than 2 weeks are nearly impossible to get. Review

Turtle Beach Campground, Siesta Key, FL, USA: We did enjoy our time here, so we've booked in for another stay in January. It's a nice spot ... 7 out of 10. The paddling is not as good as Ft. De Soto, the biking is as extensive but through a slightly more urban route and it's not as quiet. However, it does offer better proximity to several good restaurants, grocery shopping and the beaches. Review

Gros Morne RV Campground, Rocky Harbour, NL, CANADAThis is a lovely campground in Rocky Harbour; reasonable prices, private, quiet, treed sites available, water & electric with dump station, firewood, WiFi, great showers, laundry, outdoor group kitchen enclosure, easy walking distance to town, good location within Gros Morne.

Grand Codroy RV/Tent Camping Park, Doyles, NL, CANADA: Wow! This is a lovely campground, certainly one of the nicest roadside spots we’ve been to anywhere. Friendly and helpful owners and staff. A variety of site types for everything from tents to large motorcoaches, most with different orientations and views. Many sites are quite private, the grounds are clean and well-groomed. Fully serviced, raised campfire grills, tables, WiFi. There are clean laundry and bathhouse facilities and free firewood. Craft store featuring reasonably priced products made by folks from the nearby communities. Live entertainment at times, supplied by local musicians. The campground also features a very pleasant 1 km walking trail that follows the Codroy River.

Murphy's Camping On The Ocean, Murphy Cove, NS, CANADA: Others told us that this was the nicest campground in the Province; they may be right. Beautiful location, well kept and orderly, very quiet, full service sites, strong WiFi, entertainment, complimentary coffee, beach walking, firewood, fishing, boat tours, paddling, clean bathouses and laundry.
