Part 7 in the Series, Exploring Our Backyard

... a Five Course Tasting Workshop ...

Last spring I was very fortunate to attend a 'Pasta 101' Class  with  Angelo Bean, Artisan sausage maker and Italian Cooking Studio.   I enjoyed the class and time with Angelo so much that I knew I would return. I convinced Crusty it would be a good idea to attend Angelo's Five Course Tasking Workshop.  We would do a bit of cooking, some wine tasting and lots of eating!  Do yourself a 'flavour favour' and attend this workshop ... wear 'stretchy' pants and cancel any dinner reservations!

Angelo is passionate about food, wine and life in general. He absolutely loves what he does; it shows in the meals he creates and the stories he shares about his Italian heritage.

He makes everything from scratch; including his wine infused sausages, his salumi and prosciutto.
The Cantina (Aging Cellar)

The finished product - Antipasto di Salumi
Angelo reaching into his 'spice cabinet' for some Sambuca to add to the Zuppa
Putting the finishing touches to Zuppa di Fagioli e cozze (bean soup with mussels and seafood, served in a Martini glass)
Enjoying the Zuppa
Crusty rolls out the pasta for our next course
The men get their instructions to assist Angelo in preparing Spaghetti alla Chitarra (hand made pasta cut on a traditional 'pasta chitarra' with semi-dried cherry tomatoes, fior de latte, mozzarella and fresh basil)
I was so busy eating that I missed taking photos of the next course - which was Salsiccia e Friarelli (wine-infused sausage with rapini - a traditional Italian street food).

A selection of cheese with homemade jam and a fig stuffed with blue cheese.
Neapolitan pastry (stuffed with ricotta), fresh fruit and espresso.
Before you head home, wear off some of the food and wine by talking a stroll along Angelo's walking path - framed by wine bottles and corks under your feet
